Our ESG Set-up and Organization
To achieve our ESG targets, we have developed several strategic roadmaps, for all business units. These roadmaps include directives aimed at reducing emissions and improving energy consumption.
Recognizing the importance of these goals, the reduction target for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030 has been designated as one of the two ESG-related indicators for the long-term incentive (LTI) of senior management, starting from 2023.
Like ZF Group, ZF LIFETEC’s approach is closely aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to steer our ESG initiatives and further enhance its contribution to a more sustainable world. In addition, we have a particular focus on SDG 3 “Good Health and Well-being.”
Every year, up to 1.19 million people worldwide die due to road traffic accidents (Source: WHO, 2021), and road traffic injuries are the most common cause of death among kids and adults between 5-29 years old. As reducing road traffic injuries and saving lives is inseparably linked with ZF LIFETEC’s business purpose, the company aims to make a significant impact on public health, prioritizing initiatives that enhance the health and well-being of communities, customers and employees.

A dedicated ESG organization: Sustainability Operating Model and Governance
We believe that sustainability is more than only climate protection and needs to be integrated throughout the business to be effective.
Therefore, ZF LIFETEC has implemented a sustainability organization which is connected to all relevant functional areas and complements the compliance, governance and risk management structures within the company.
